a policy short enough to actually read

Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE JULY 2, 2026

The short version: Up Next has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Your show list lives on your device and in your own private iCloud. We never see it, and we couldn't sell it if we wanted to — we don't have it.

What the app stores

The shows you follow, which episodes you've watched, and your notification preferences. All of it is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData.

Importing from TV Time? The export file is read entirely on your device — its contents are never uploaded anywhere.

iCloud sync

If you're signed into iCloud, your library syncs between your devices through your private CloudKit database. That data belongs to your Apple account; it is not accessible to the developer or to anyone else. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

What leaves your device

To show you episode information, the app makes requests to two catalog services:

These requests contain only the show being looked up — never your name, your full library, or any identifier tied to you. Like any web request, the services can see your IP address.

What we don't do

Notifications

Episode reminders are local notifications, scheduled entirely on your device. No notification content passes through our servers — we don't have servers.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and its local data goes with it. To remove synced data from iCloud as well, delete the app's data under Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage, or simply unfollow your shows before deleting.

Children

Up Next does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There is no mechanism by which it could.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Given the app's design, don't expect reruns.
